General Course Questions
Where are the training courses held?
The training courses are generally held at The Royal Society of Medicine on Wimpole Street. Occasionally we may change the location and we will notify you well in advance of any changes to the location of the training. The online courses are ‘access any time’, meaning you can complete these in your own time as they are not live training.
What time do the courses start and finish?
The courses start at 9:15am and finish at 17:00 and are usually on a Friday and Saturday. However, the specific agenda (which may differ slightly) is shared with delegates as part of the joining instructions pack (sent as soon as booking has been made).
Do I have to prepare anything for the courses?
If you do not have the adequate knowledge listed in the course, we recommend that you take the time to familiarise yourself with the pre-reading of UK HRT medications prior to attending. This will be sent to you in your delegate pack.
Do I need to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)?
It is normally mandatory to be registered with the CQC as you will be carrying out the regulated activity of ‘treating disease, disorder or injury’ which is involved in hormone management. We strongly advise you to contact the CQC to determine if you and your practice require registration.
Will I receive a certificate for attending the course?
Yes, all attending delegates receive a CPD accredited certificate of attendance at the end of the course.
Will my course count towards my CPD?
Yes. All full-day courses count as 6 CPD points. The online course ‘Foundation in Women’s Health’ counts for 1 CPD and courses 1 and 2 online count for 3 CPD points.
Am I able to provide feedback after attending the course?
Yes, you will be provided with a feedback form. The feedback can be anonymous. We greatly appreciate feedback from all delegates, as it enables us to improve future courses.
Can anyone attend the course?
In order to be eligible to attend the courses, health practitioners are required to be a prescribing medical professional registered with an appropriate regulatory body, please see here for further details. In addition, it is a requirement that that practitioners have basic women’s health experience, otherwise, it is a requirement to complete the course ‘Foundation in Women’s Health‘ prior to completing courses 1 & 2.
Can I complete course 2 without course 1?
Normally practitioners would need to complete course 1 before attending course 2. Should you have experience in prescribing BHRT already, please contact us to review if attending course 1 is applicable.
