Dr Ghazala Aziz-Scott studied Medicine at Cambridge University and graduated with a Masters in Neuroscience, Medical Ethics and Law. She transferred to Oxford University for her clinical training where she also completed her specialist GP training scheme gaining her membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 1995. Well qualified in women’s health, she also holds the DRCOG (Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists) and DFFP (Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning). She has been an experienced senior GP in a large NHS partnership in West London for over two decades but is now dedicating her career to Functional Medicine and bioidentical hormone balancing to provide an expertise in integrative women’s health.
Ghazala has always been drawn to a holistic approach to treating patients respecting the physical, psychological and spiritual dimensions that impact health and wellness. She has trained with the Marion Gluck Training Academy and the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) having done the introductory AFMCP course in Seattle, USA and six advanced practice modules for full certification. Subsequently, she has gained substantial practical experience working at a leading functional medicine clinic in the UK.
Ghazala uses the functional approach to treat a range of hormonal conditions such as perimenopause, menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, PMS/PMDD, adrenal fatigue and andropause to provide a personalised treatment plan. Bioidentical hormones are prescribed as needed and treatment often involves nutritional therapy and other therapeutic interventions influenced by the wisdom of ancient healing systems such as Ayurveda.
Dr Susie Rockwell, an NHS GP qualified from Charing Cross & Westminster medical school in 1987 moving to Brighton in 1989. She worked at the Royal Sussex County and the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital before moving to General Practice.
Dr Rockwell continues to work as an NHS GP at Portslade Health Centre where where she has been since 1992. She has run a woman’s clinic there for many years and this interest has carried over to her BHRT practice.
Dr. Rockwell was one of the first doctors to be trained in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy by Dr Marion Gluck. As a result she has successfully treated hundreds of patients using BHRT and it is now the main area of her private practice in Hove. During 2016 Dr Rockwell was accredited as a “Menopause Specialist” by the British Menopause Society.
